I know I said I was done with “Potpourri” posts, but these are two videos that happened in one night, so I am going to allow it.
First up, we have Whisker Squadron Survivor. I played the game for the first time on this stream, and it is… conflicting. On one hand, the general concept of a Rogue-Like Star Fox is pretty great, and I can understand why this game had a successful kickstarter. On the other hand, in actual practice this is boring and repetitive, and does not display the triumphs of the rogue-like genre like Hades or similar. As fanboymaster notes during the stream, I played for approximately 40 minutes, and that can be an entire run of Star Fox 64. But, in this situation, I was back to the purple-beginning, and dealing with the low level, low impact early stages all over again.
Maybe there is more to Whisker Squadron Survivor than is immediately evident in this stream. But, for now, that’s all I want to try.
Anywho, we’ve got fanboymaster, BEAT, Chromes, Jeanie, Caithness, and Caliscrub. Stick around for some in-depth recommendations on character creation with Chromes.

And after that, we head over to the Nintendo Switch to play some Wario Land 4. As has been lightly noticed on this blog, I will state that I find Wario Land 4 to be an unambiguously good game. That said, it is garbage when you cannot make any progress because you missed a random incline on the opposite side of the room. Not that I am speaking from experience or anything. I used to have time for treasure hunt hijinks on the Gameboy Advance, but no longer! So enjoy watching me bumble around with Wario, and complete a level or six on my way to never returning again. Oh, and if you want to find the article we talk about in there regarding Ryu’s many absences, here it is.
