Another random “off week” means another random game we would not see otherwise. This time, we have Windswept, a 2023 platformer that has Morning Song repeating the nickname “Ducky Kong”. It’s Donkey Kong Country 2! But with nature’s most perfect duo: a duck and a turtle! There was probably something about it in the Bible or whatever! Anyway, what is important is that there are various animals running around wearing cool headwear (a dolphin with a trucker hat, an octopus in a top hat, etc), and some decent platforming to boot. It may be a little too precise for someone that does not live and breathe Donkey Kong Country, and we only get to world 4.2, but it is a fun evening for myself and such commentators as BEAT, Morning Song, fanboymaster, Chromes, Caithness, Caliscrub, and Ample Vigour. SkreamnRedSkull and Boog are even in the chat! And, if you are curious as to what we get to chatting about, let it be known that such subjects include Fate/stay night, crypto environmentalism, which button should be jump, Kong jams, John Brown (abolitionist), Tiny Tim who did not die but developed sorosis, kindergarteners, Jojo, Metal Gear, Penny Arcade, and the eternal battle between cats and doors. So come for the cute gameplay, stay for the massive number of dead ducks drowning in lava. It’s a cozy stream!
