Night 2
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2

Playstation, 2000

Random Notes:

  • The march of time continues on with fanboymaster steering Tony Hawk. A commentary section of Morning Song, Jeanie, BEAT, Cassandralyn, and myself are watching attentively.
  • There are a few moments early in this stream where fanboymaster’s Discord drops out, and our Greek chorus is silent. Some other streamers might cut this weird content for the VOD, but we are keeping it in. It’s still fun to watch Tony Hawk!
  • Chromes joins as we learn that wall riding is more of a videogame mechanic than a real-life mechanic.
  • Just slide with meAmple Vigour joins as School II reminds us all we will never stop having nightmares about being back in School I.
  • “There’s all sorts of weird things in this.”
  • Never ask why there is not a sequel to Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. That goes double for the government of Canada.
  • BEAT says he played more Jet Set Radio than Tony Hawk. No duh.
  • Chromes is cool. The Google product of the same name is not.
  • “Bonus Boss sounds like the shittiest surprise at work.”
  • Caliscrub joins as fanboymaster is skating around Venice Beach.
  • Not providing any context for this one: “In the pantheon of cutting yourself, it’s one of the safer ways to do it.”
  • We drift into talking about BMX XXX, Night Trap, and Chiller. None of these games have anything to do with tonight’s feature, because Tony Hawk is a good boy.
  • A concerningly high number of people on the stream have experienced near-hypothermia through not understanding how “the night” works. It’s when the sun goes away, guys!
  • Caliscrub starts his weekly Guilty Gear counter stream, so we address the Guilty Gear timeline and the child bride of Ky. BlazBlue and its slightly fewer child brides may be mentioned as well.
  • And we close out in the bull ring with a brief history of how Tony Hawk’s trick names influence the culture as a whole.

Next Week on the Hawkathon: Grinding for sweet real estate.
