Wild Arms 2 Part 28: The Planet is in Peril (Again)

Previously on Wild Arms 2: Ashley fought his way back from the darkness with the help of Marina. And just Marina. To be absolutely clear: nobody else helped. At all.

I don’t think we get a distinct timeframe for Ashley’s absence, but let’s assume that it’s been a while since Irving said that.

Nope! Moving on.

“We will be transforming the chateau into a hotdog stand. Kanon, you are now responsible for relish deliveries.”

“We’re out of napkins.”

“What’d I miss? What’d I miss?”

Irving loves his dramatic tension…

Wild Arms 2 Part 21: The New Kanon

Previously on Wild Arms 2: We rode a train! And saved Noel from another dimension! Good job all around, everybody!

Oh, but we lost a nuke to Odessa. You miss one tiny detail…

So let’s take a quick tour of Guild Galad before we head off to parts unknown. Once again, if you recall, signs and whatnot up to this point have been in English, but I’m pretty sure we’ve got Chinese going through the Asian-themed Guild Galad. Or maybe it’s Japanese? Point is that Guild Galad is deliberately supposed to be “foreign” compared to the more West-themed other countries of Filgaia.

Word travels fast on this planet.

We don’t actually get a “story event” that tells us our next mission, but some of the NPCs are happy to point out our next destination.

Man, 2017 in a nutshell. Am I right? Huh? Huh?

This appears to be a Guild Galad church. Or shrine? GG apparently has some kind of worship… uh… room?

D’aww…

Wild Arms 2 Part 13: You’re a Wizard, Timmy!

Previously on Wild Arms 2: ARMS picked up some random rocks, and now their home base can freaking fly! Vwoooosh! Where can I pick up some ancient technology? I’ve always wanted a mobile Custard Hut.

And we also picked up Tim, the little orphan boy that just found out a local castle is airborne and he can talk to gods. Oddly, these two facts are not related.

“… by anyone that isn’t immediately in this room.”

“Here is where you were born.”
“Neat.”
“Wanna talk to gods now? How about now?”

Wild Arms 2 Part 01: Going to the Dogs

Are you ready for a Let’s Play so wild, you’re gonna need two arms to contain it!?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for a Let’s Play of Wild Arms 2: Second Ignition. Why WA2? Well, I’ll explain that in full detail much later, but, long story short, for the last fifteen years or so, I’ve felt like I owed Wild Arms 2 a favor, and now is as good a time as any to settle that debt.

We are starting a new game! Mostly! By the way, unlike Wild Arms 1, there is no secret cinema scene if you wait on the title screen long enough. Believe me, I checked.

But like Wild Arms, there is a rad introduction sequence when you start up the game. It’s not as good as the Wild Arms 1 intro, but then again, many people have described the birth of their first child as “not as good as the Wild Arms 1 intro.”

And the first glimpse of a character is ol’ Spineyhands McCloakneck. I’m sure he’ll be important later.

Each of the Wild Arms games has a… gun-sounding? Is that a phrase?… subtitle. Should I be abbreviating this game as WA2ndI? No.

Trudging through the desert is…
