Wild Arms 2 Part 24: The Last Place You Look

Previously on Wild Arms 2: Three out of four Diablo Pillars have fallen, but we’ve still got one more to go.

All Amy can tell us is that we’re looking for an island near Meria, so maybe someone in Meria will give us a hint.

So much for plot relevant characters helping us out.

The library worked out in Guild Galad, so let’s give it a shot.

Nope! Even that book we couldn’t read earlier is still a mystery.

This entire town is a bust. So much for following subtle JRPG clues.

Maybe we should just set off and find that island ourselves…

Wild Arms 2 Part 21: The New Kanon

Previously on Wild Arms 2: We rode a train! And saved Noel from another dimension! Good job all around, everybody!

Oh, but we lost a nuke to Odessa. You miss one tiny detail…

So let’s take a quick tour of Guild Galad before we head off to parts unknown. Once again, if you recall, signs and whatnot up to this point have been in English, but I’m pretty sure we’ve got Chinese going through the Asian-themed Guild Galad. Or maybe it’s Japanese? Point is that Guild Galad is deliberately supposed to be “foreign” compared to the more West-themed other countries of Filgaia.

Word travels fast on this planet.

We don’t actually get a “story event” that tells us our next mission, but some of the NPCs are happy to point out our next destination.

Man, 2017 in a nutshell. Am I right? Huh? Huh?

This appears to be a Guild Galad church. Or shrine? GG apparently has some kind of worship… uh… room?

D’aww…

Wild Arms 2 Part 14: You’ve Gotta Blow Sometime

Previously on Wild Arms 2: Tim gained the power to speak to and summon the very gods themselves. Now it’s just a simple matter of telling the village elders, and the rest of the update will probably be a pizza and ice cream party.

I can almost taste that pizza!

As a thank you, the party receives a bunch of heal berries of various sizes. I want to say this is the first time ARMS has been tangibly rewarded for completing a mission, but it’s also kind of a gameplay concession because you’re pretty locked into the next big chunk of game.

Oh, also, because my inventory is fully stocked, it makes the prize look… a little less thrilling.

Baskar is a remote village, so I suppose it will take a while for the pizza to get here.

“Also, this bed is made of bones!”

So Tim decides to take a little stroll, and overhears a bit of conversation…

Wild Arms 2 Part 10: Crosses to Bear

Previously on Wild Arms 2: ARMS asked to have free reign of an entire country, and Queen Whatshername was like, “wut? lol no.” But then a town got attacked, so ARMS had a chance to prove their collective usefulness.

Of course, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen, because the whole place is deserted.

Nobody asked for your opinion on the nightlife, Lilka.

G-g-g-g-g-ghosts?!

Great, everybody got raptured, and we missed it. Nora is going to be so pissed off that this happened again.

And then the bell rings. Ominous.

What? It’s just a ringing bell, how could that be…

Oh. This can’t be good…
